Photoshoot 1

After looking at John Coplans I took two sets of photos of the human body, the first set was of different sections of the body and for development I focused specifically on the hands. Below are the edited thumbnails of which images I would go on to edit.

Development 1

for my first development i decided to do a secondary photoshoot that focused more on a specific part of the body this being the hands.

Next i decide to print some of the images on to acetate and took these in to the darkroom to print.

development 2

Development 3

For a third set of development I looked at mirroring some of my images.

For a final set of developments for this stage I decide to add some simple illustrations to the photos i took in my first development stage.

I next decided to look at the artist Floris Neususs and his work in the darkroom with digital negatives some of which he changed to digital  positives.. The prints he made in cApturing the simplicity of the human form.

First i looked at creating simalar prints to floris neususs, having The simplicity of the human from show through in the darkroom prints i produced, i also inverted each print similar to Neususs.

INITIAL Photograms

Development 1

Next i scanned images of my hands and arms and converted them  onto acetate. Next i then went into THE darkroom placing the acetate on top of the photosensitive paper and the place my hands over the top similar to how i did my intiail images this adds layers the images. Mixing both the detail of a digital negative with the simplicity of a photogram.

Next I decided to look at the body up close, so I researched artist who also do this, in this case I looked into Genevieve Cardieux, who looks at extreme close ups of the skin and often compares them to landscapes.

Photoshoot 3

After looking at the body as a whole, I decided to focus on close ups of the skin capturing impurities, similar to Genevieve Cardieux. I did this using a microscope camera, this captured close ups of the skin in detail, although they could not be blown up big, a lot on a smaller scale works well.

development 1

FOR THE MICROSCOPE IMAGES I PLACED THEM IN A GIRID FORMATION, WHICH GIVES THEM A MEDICAL TYPE LAYOUT. ADDITIONALLY WHEN THESE IMAGES ARE BLOWN UP THEY BECOME BLURRY BECAUSE THE CAMERA USED IHAS LOW RESOLUTION.

development 2

For a second stage of development i Took some of the images into the darkroom, after inverting and printing them onto acetate to create 35mm prints.

development 2

For a secondary development i decided to print of several of my close ups and fold them into different shapes.. I then photographed them on different backgrounds. and edited them in Photoshop.

Critical link 4

After looking at the body up close i decided to look at the body in motion and trying to capture it in an image. Specifically i looked into the artist Shinich maruyama.

Photoshoot 4

Next i decided to look at the body in motion starting with focusing on the movement of the hands.

Selections

For this first stage of development I decided to invert the images in order to give them an appearance similar to that of x-rays. This links to research done in my personal study. The first X-ray being in 1895 by Wilhelm Roentgen was of his wife's hand.
